I don't understand the other reviewer's comment about garbled sound,because messages left on my GE machine are clear as a bell...even better than the previous AT&T machine I had for several jears. This machine comes complete with a built in "secretary," who not only announces your new messages, with the time and day they were received, she helps walk you through the initial set-up procedure. I did not even have to read the instructions except to find out which button to push to start the set-up procedure. Operation of the unit is very easy & intuitive.
